Bookkeeper
Job Description
To form part of the Finance department and work in a cross functional environment and be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, promote teamwork, be accountable and have a hands-on approach to all aspects of bookkeeping.
Experience: Minimum 3 years solid working experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting or Finance
Key Competencies- Processing of payments on banking platform
- Reconciliation of bank accounts
- Capturing of invoices and journals on Sage Evolution.
- Reconciliation of general ledger control accounts
- Preparation of trial balance
- Preparation of expense schedules.
- Preparation of supplier spend for BEE purposes
- Follow up on outstanding accounts payable and receivable
- Invoicing as per contracts
- Maintenance of the fixed assets register
- Collaborate with the Management team to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Resolve all queries timeously
- Ensure accurate record keeping of finance documentation
- Assist with internal and external auditor's queries
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills must be at advanced level
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to use initiative
- Ability to multitask
Excellent knowledge of accounting software
- Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
