Job Description

Overview

To form part of the Finance department and work in a cross functional environment and be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, promote teamwork, be accountable and have a hands-on approach to all aspects of bookkeeping.

Experience: Minimum 3 years solid working experience

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Accounting or Finance

Key Competencies
  • Processing of payments on banking platform
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Capturing of invoices and journals on Sage Evolution.
  • Reconciliation of general ledger control accounts
  • Preparation of trial balance
  • Preparation of expense schedules.
  • Preparation of supplier spend for BEE purposes
  • Follow up on outstanding accounts payable and receivable
  • Invoicing as per contracts
  • Maintenance of the fixed assets register
  • Collaborate with the Management team to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Resolve all queries timeously
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of finance documentation
  • Assist with internal and external auditor's queries
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills must be at advanced level
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative
  • Ability to multitask
Knowledge

Excellent knowledge of accounting software

  • Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices.
