Our client operating in the FMCG / Meat industry, is seeking to employ a Despatch & Production Supervisor with strong butchery experience to join their team in Markman, Gqeberha.

(Proven butchery experience within a fresh meat or food production environment advantageous)

Requirements:

  • Proven butchery experience within a fresh meat or food production environment.
  • 3 - 4 years' experience in despatch, stock control, and order picking.
  • Strong understanding of meat quality standards, food safety, and cold chain compliance.
  • Ability to supervise staff, manage workflow, and maintain productivity.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately pick, prepare, and despatch customer orders in line with daily schedules.
  • Conduct regular stock checks, FIFO rotation, and inventory control.
  • Perform final quality inspections before goods leave the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene standards, food safety regulations, and cold chain requirements.
  • Supervise fresh meat production activities when not actively despatching orders.
  • Monitor staff performance and ensure production targets are met.
  • Maintain clean, organised, and compliant working areas.
  • Report quality issues, stock variances, and operational concerns to management.
