Kendrick Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious luxury travel company based in Johannesburg. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced DMC Retail Travel Specialist to join a dynamic and service driven team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the creative planning and seamless execution of tailor made itineraries, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while meeting budget expectations. This role requires strong attention to detail, commercial awareness and a genuine passion for African travel.
Responsibilities- Creative planning and designing of bespoke itineraries
- Managing the reservations process to ensure guest budgets are achieved
- Handling bookings from quotation through to finalisation, invoicing and preparation of travel documents
- Maintaining consistent and clear communication with agents, sales teams, preferred supplier partners and colleagues
- Participating in emergency duty on a rotational basis as per company procedure
- Working early and late shifts on a weekly rotational basis
- Servicing agents and guests in a calm and professional manner
- Proactively selling products and services to ensure the best possible safari experience
- Demonstrating an independent, curious and proactive approach
- Upholding strong sustainability and conservation values
- In depth knowledge of Tourplan advantageous
- Strong knowledge of South Africa, Southern Africa and East Africa preferred
- Willingness and aptitude to learn
- Good understanding of terms and conditions, product knowledge and third party destinations
- Understanding of travel industry distribution channels
- Tourplan advantageous
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- WETU
- Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and make informed decisions
- Understanding of various international source markets
- Commercial acumen and ability to contribute to strategic decision making
- Knowledge of sales processes and methodologies
