Job Description

The Electrician is responsible for fault finding, repairing vandalism, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain cluster/ region/ network allocated within 24/7 availability model.
  • Corrective maintenance execution.
  • Perform repairs on electrical systems damaged by vandalism.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in telecommunication systems.
  • Manage all required site landlord and Access Request interactions.
  • Execute planned maintenance.
  • Adhere to all EHS rules, regulations and requirements.
  • Adhere to all Site Security Access Protocols at all times.
  • Manage spare parts and boot spares within network process and procedures.
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting, fault analyses and reporting (site investigation).
  • Attending to all network and Access faults on site on Alarms, masts and roof tops.
  • Complete work orders allocated within network SLA and quality standards.
  • Update site information as per System and Network reporting protocols.
Job Requirements
  • Matric plus technical tertiary Qualifications (i.e. EE N4-N6, Electrical trade test, EE S3-S4).
  • Trade test plus Wireman's license (Valid Electrician Certificate of Competence).
  • Valid South African driving license - Code 10/C1 or higher.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Experience / substantial exposure to similar role/ function is required.
  • Update site information as per System and Network reporting protocols.
Required Skills
  • Ability to efficiently use mobile based systems (OWS/ Mateline/ Icare).
  • Ability to work with a tight deadline.
HSE Competency Requirements
  • Valid occupational medical certificate for driving.
  • First Aid training.
  • Ability to work with a tight deadline.
Required Experience
  • Maximum 2 years' experience in Telecoms Electrician Role.
  • Experienced in use of specialised Electrical testing equipment (Power/Current meters etc.).
  • Confidently computer literate and able to communicate proficiently in English in written form.
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant Telecoms Sector mobile smart phone-based software and communication systems.
  • Telecoms sector relevant Electrical and Power Supply equipment knowledge and experience.
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting and experience in relevant fault analyses and repair within Wireless Telecoms site Electrical infrastructure and power supply equipment and circuits.
