A luxury property management company is seeking a steady, detail-driven FinancialAccountant to ensure complete financial continuity during a maternity cover period for 6 months.
This is a stewardshiprole focused on continuity, control, and financial stability. The mandate isclear: maintain accuracy, protect owner funds, ensure compliance, and deliverreliable financial insight without disruption to established systems or governancestructures.
You willtake full responsibility for ensuring uninterrupted financial reporting,payroll accuracy, owner statement delivery, and statutory compliance whilemaintaining robust internal controls.
- Deliver accuratemonthly management accounts within agreed timelines
- Maintain integrity ofthe general ledger, balance sheet, trust and clearing accountreconciliations
- Provide concisevariance commentary and highlight material risks early
- Ensure audit readinessat all times
- Issue 100% accurateowner statements by the 10th of each month
- Ensure fullreconciliation between Boom, Xero, and owner liability accounts
- Proactively resolvediscrepancies before reporting
- Maintain tightoversight of debtors and creditors
- Monitor liquidity andprotect owner funds at all times
- Ensure accurate andtimely owner payouts
- Process and reconcilepayroll for 200 employees via SimplePay
- Ensure accurate andtimely SARS submissions (VAT, PAYE, UIF, etc.)
- Operate strictly withinestablished financial controls and approval limits
- Track performanceagainst approved budgets
- Identify materialvariances and support rolling forecasts
- Focus on monitoring andcontrol rather than structural redesign
- Maintain up-to-dateSOPs and month-end checklists
- Keep a live financerisk watchlist
- Deliver a structuredand comprehensive handover at contract end
- Complete relatedtertiary Financial Accounting qualification
- Proven experience in a SeniorFinancial Accountant role
- Strong technicalaccounting and reconciliation expertise
- Advanced workingknowledge of Xero (essential)
- Experience managingpayroll at scale
- Solid understanding ofstatutory compliance and governance
- High attention to detail and strong internal control mindset
