Job Description

Primary Purpose

The main function will be to assist clients who have broken down on the side of the road or in the customer yard, by arranging that a suitable supplier is sent out to either do roadside repairs or arrange for the vehicles to be towed to the nearest suitable supplier. The Incumbent will ensure that breakdowns and planned maintenance is managed to reduce downtime, through reports and constant communication with the suppliers and our regional offices. They will make informed decisions to assist with breakdown or accident requirements. The Incumbent will be responsible for developing ties with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will take calls, validate the client and the vehicle, record the details of the breakdown, dispatch a supplier and follow up with the client until the client is safely back on the road or towed to place of safety.

Minimum Requirements Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • NTC3
  • Diesel/petrol mechanic qualification (preferred)
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Technical Call Centre.
  • Technical Knowledge on commercial vehicle hydraulics
  • Auto electrical diagnostics experience.
  • Experience as a service advisor or worked in an automobile technical call center (ideal)
Technical Competencies
  • Practical technical knowledge of motor vehicles.
  • Strong Customer care principles
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and computer skills.
  • Initiative and be able to function without supervision.
  • Accuracy/Attention to detail
  • Planning/ Organizing ability
