Forklift Driver
Job Description
NOV is seeking an experienced Forklift Driver to join our team in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). You will be responsible for driving a Forklift, Clamp Truck, Side Cart, Overhead crane or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count product and material. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties.
- Adhere to supervision instructions and to safety policies.
- Be prepared to work overtime/shifts when required
- Ensure that the correct equipment is used
- Maintain all equipment in good working condition
- Complete job correctly within allocated timeframe
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage location. Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment. Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Daily, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience operating lifting equipment (e.g., cranes, forklifts, hoists) is required.
- Heavy lift experience is mandatory.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of traffic safety signs
- Ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with crew and other members
- Computer literate and operate a computer to company requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable safety regulations.
