- Coaches will need to attend a 3-day Coaching Boot Camp before the year begins to prepare them for the position, obtain books, and experience a coaching cycle before they begin.
- All coaches must have a minimum of 3 years classroom experience and effective, highly effective evaluation marks from their principal.
- All coaches must have or complete the Utah Instructional Coaching Endorsement (focuses on adult learning, coaching cycle, instructional strategies, leading collaborative teams, and data driven decision making).
- All coaches will need to attend regular (weekly or monthly) district PLC/Trainings focused on specific needs (e.g., disrupted learning based on data, Canvas, blended learning, instructional strategies, restorative practices, etc.).
- Develop/deepen own content knowledge of coaching, adult learning theory, evidence based instructional strategies, leading effective teams, and exemplary practices in whole group and small group differentiated instruction.
- Extend competencies through active participation in District Level Professional Learning Opportunities, including personal coaching with district coaches.
- Improve instruction by providing sustained support to classroom teachers through continuous coaching cycles (pre conference, data collection, reflective conversations); provide professional learning focused on implementing Utah Core Standards with research based instructional practices using the district programs (in class modeling, team teaching, shadow teaching, etc.).
- Observe teacher instruction and provide feedback.
- Provide teachers with Tier I and II classroom and student behavior management coaching.
- Provide professional learning focused on school goals.
- Provide collaborative teams with support in trust and functioning, data analysis, and instructional planning.
- Provide teachers and teams with support implementing blended learning.
- Understand proficiency based teaching and reporting.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development as required.
- Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, colleagues, and members of the community.
- Understand and adhere to laws, district policies, and procedures.
- Maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, school staff, district staff, and members of the community.
- Demonstrate professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
- Be a positive role model.
- Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction (e.g., Swivl, Google Forms, etc.).
- Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
- Conform to District policies including attendance, absences, and evaluations. Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are essential functions of this position.

Teachers should always dress in a manner that professionally sets them apart from students. Exceptions to the dress limitations are school approved special events or activities.
