Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive customer service in-store. Merchandising of stock, shelf price labelling and housekeeping within designated area of responsibility.
  • Advise and assist customers on correct products and queries; assist with and resolve customer complaints.
  • Merchandising standards: ensure bulk stock areas are merchandised safely and according to store layout plan; area of responsibility fully merchandised according to store layout and planograms.
  • Housekeeping: maintain an obstacle-free area; merchandise stock immediately after receipt; ensure customers can enter/exit your aisle safely; correct shelf price labelling; complete duty checklists (when applicable, e.g., canteen and toilet/showers schedule).
  • Safety (OHSA) requirements: comply with safety practices (use of safety gear, ensure safety of customers and staff); report discrepancies to the Store Manager; manage stock loss; report damaged stock within area of responsibility.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year of related experience, or Grade 12 without related work experience.
  • Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area.
  • Valid South African ID or work permit.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to work under pressure.
