HR Generalist

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire a HR Manager for our client based in Goodwood.

Policies And Procedures (10%)
  • Adhere to all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain HR policies and procedures in line with organisational requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures and provide expert guidance to managers and employees.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring, interpreting, and implementing applicable labour legislation and HR regulations.
  • Pro-actively ensure that all managers and employees are aware of, trained on, and compliant with workplace policies and procedures.
Staff Management (30%)
  • Manage the department's day-to-day operational delivery to ensure efficiency and service excellence.
  • Provide leadership, support, and guidance to the team, acting as a point of escalation for complex or challenging matters.
  • Guide the team on operational prioritisation to ensure deadlines and service levels are met.
  • Drive internal process management by reviewing, optimising, and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company policies and SOP adherence across the team.
PeopleManagement And Satisfaction (10%)
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Support employee engagement, morale, and job satisfaction within the department.
  • Address people-related concerns timeously and professionally to maintain healthy working relationships.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving employee experience and retention. EMPLOYEE RELATIONS (14%)
  • Manage the employee relations function, including drafting warnings and notices, and providing management with advice in line with applicable labour legislation.
Employee Relations (14%)
  • Support and guide managers through disciplinary, grievance, misconduct, incapacity, and poor performance processes.
  • Participate in and, where required, lead disciplinary, grievance, and incapacity hearings.
  • Act as the lead on all employee relations matters, providing oversight and support to the HRA to ensure issues are managed effectively, efficiently, and timeously.
  • Maintain specialist knowledge of employment legislation and serve as a primary source of expert advice and guidance to managers.
  • Respond to and resolve queries from management and employees regarding policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
