LLB GRADUATE Jnr Legal Associate - R 25-30k pm - STELLENBOSCH (Private Sector)

Stellenbosch, South Africa Posted on 02/11/2026

A growing in-house legal team within a dynamic property development group is looking for a newly qualified LLB graduate who wants to build a long-term career outside of traditional legal practice.

This role is ideal for someone who does not want to pursue articles in a law firm, but instead wants hands on exposure inside a commercial business environment where legal work is closely tied to real projects, deals, and development activity across multiple African jurisdictions.

You will work directly with senior legal leadership and play a critical support role in keeping high-value development projects moving smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a practical, detail-driven legal role focused on the operational backbone of a fast-moving property group. Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements and property-related contracts
  • Supporting due diligence on projects across African markets
  • Handling internal legal admin and compliance tracking
  • Coordinating with external attorneys and advisors
  • Assisting with company secretarial and governance processes
  • Researching regulatory and property frameworks across jurisdictions
  • Maintaining structured contract and document management systems

This role is about precision, reliability, and becoming the person the legal team can depend on to keep the fundamentals running flawlessly.

Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and document accuracy
  • Organised, methodical, and calm under pressure
  • Interested in commercial law and property environments
  • Comfortable working behind the scenes to support senior decision-makers
  • Looking for stability and long-term growth in a private sector career
  • Professional, discreet, and dependable
  • No prior legal practice experience is required. The focus is attitude, discipline, and willingness to learn.
Why This Role Is Different
  • Direct mentorship inside an in house legal function
  • Exposure to cross-border development work
  • Private sector career path instead of law firm hours
  • Real responsibility from day one
  • Stable environment with long-term growth potential

This is a rare entry point into an in house legal career inside a high value property environment, suited to someone who wants to build expertise.
