Job Purpose: The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a secretarial support service to a senior manager(s).
Note: This project is an initiative of the Western Cape Government.
QualificationsGrade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualification; A minimum of 3 years experience in rendering a support service to management/ senior management.
Key Performance Areas- Provides a secretarial / receptionist support service to the manager;
- Renders administrative support services;
- Provides support to manager regarding meetings;
- Supports the manager with the administration of the manager's budget;
- Studies the relevant Public Service and departmental prescripts / policies and other documents and ensure that the application.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation / policies / prescripts and procedures;
- Financial administration;
- Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate well with people at different levels and from different backgrounds;
- Good telephone etiquette;
- Computer literacy;
- Sound organisational skills;
- Good people skills;
- High level of reliability;
- Ability to act with tact and discretion;
- Ability to do research and analyse documents and situations;
- Good grooming and presentation.
R - R per annum (Salary level 7)
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
