Job Purpose: The Department of Social Development, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to render a secretarial support service to a senior manager(s).

Note: This project is an initiative of the Western Cape Government.

Qualifications

Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification) plus an accredited secretarial diploma and/or administrative qualification on the level of NQF level 5 or relevant higher tertiary qualification; A minimum of 3 years experience in rendering a support service to management/ senior management.

Key Performance Areas
  • Provides a secretarial / receptionist support service to the manager;
  • Renders administrative support services;
  • Provides support to manager regarding meetings;
  • Supports the manager with the administration of the manager's budget;
  • Studies the relevant Public Service and departmental prescripts / policies and other documents and ensure that the application.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation / policies / prescripts and procedures;
  • Financial administration;
  • Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate well with people at different levels and from different backgrounds;
  • Good telephone etiquette;
  • Computer literacy;

  • Good people skills;
  • High level of reliability;
  • Ability to act with tact and discretion;
  • Ability to do research and analyse documents and situations;
  • Good grooming and presentation.
Remuneration and Benefits

R - R per annum (Salary level 7)

Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
