Key Responsibilities Quality & Certification Management- Create, implement, maintain, and update policies, procedures, and quality-related manuals.
- Plan, develop, and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) for all certification requirements.
- Maintain impartiality and ensure training materials remain relevant and up to date.
- Establish and manage processes required for effective quality management.
- Set annual quality objectives and targets.
- Communicate and promote understanding of the QMS across all stakeholders.
- Manage external quality assurance and quality control suppliers.
- Promote awareness of quality management principles throughout the organization.
- Conduct internal audits to assess levels of conformance.
- Initiate and monitor corrective actions for nonconformities.
- Ensure legislative compliance and governance of all QMS processes.
- Report QMS performance and quality issues transparently to senior management.
- Provide input to the annual SHEQ management system review.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and coordinate its implementation.
- Maintain accreditations such as:
- ISO 3834
- ISO 17021
through IIW IAB and SANAS.
- Lead the review, development, and continuous improvement of examinations, personnel certification, and company certification practices.
- Manage QA documentation and liaise with committee members, national organisations, and external bodies.
- Oversee internal and external audits for both company and personnel certification.
- Fulfil the roles of representative for ISO 17021 and ISO 17024.
- Train and support staff, auditors, and invigilators.
- Ensure examination integrity and the proper administration of all assessments.
- Drive strategic plans to improve qualification and certification standards.
- Ensure adherence to relevant standards such as ISO9712, SAIW standards, and IIW rules.
- Manage budgets and ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Report statistical and quality performance information to relevant committees.
- Support continuous improvement to maintain SAIW's leadership in qualification and certification of personnel and companies.
- Engineering Degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering.
- International Welding Technologist (IWT) or International Welding Engineer (IWE).
- Management Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years' industry or training experience.
