Cumbria Site-Based (Security Cleared Role)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: 12 month contract
Security Clearance: SC - Must be Sole British
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to support delivery within a highly regulated environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring quality compliance across project activities, supporting audits, overseeing inspection and test documentation, and driving continuous improvement within the Integrated Management System (IMS).
This is a key assurance role requiring strong technical understanding, vendor oversight capability, and experience within major hazard or regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities- Produce, review, and endorse Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Undertake compliance verification activities to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Liaise with Quality Control and inspection stakeholders to verify processes, documentation, ITPs, weld procedures and related technical submissions.
- Ensure project quality standards are consistently achieved and raise authorised documentation where non conformance is identified.
- Review and update the Integrated Management System (IMS) as required.
- Maintain package status and progress reporting, raising issues and coordinating with project and client QA/QC teams.
- Support internal and external audits, track actions, and implement improvements to reduce non compliances.
- Advise procurement teams on vendor competence to ensure quality considerations inform supplier selection.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
- Knowledge of Contractor Quality Requirements (SLM 4.06.02).
- Technical understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering disciplines.
- Extensive Quality Assurance experience within regulated or major hazard industries.
- Experience working within structured management systems and audit frameworks.
- Degree in a relevant discipline or professional qualification (e.g., CQI Level 5 Diploma).
- Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or working toward professional status.
