The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service within the store environment to achieve or exceed sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals. This role contributes directly to positioning PUMA Sports SA as the Fastest Sports Brand in the World by consistently upholding brand values and operational excellence standards.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve or exceed individual sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals.

Deliver consistently high standards of customer experience aligned with PUMA Brand Values and service standards.

Demonstrate strong product knowledge to support customer decision-making.

Identify and communicate merchandise opportunities to Store Management.

2. Operational Excellence

Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system.

Handle all forms of tender with integrity and precision.

Ensure correct application of discounts and promotions.

Execute and process incoming and outgoing merchandise efficiently.

Maintain the store's housekeeping and ensure full compliance with Visual Merchandising guidelines.

Guarantee the store presentation consistently meets or exceeds brand standards.

Maintain store facilities and promptly report maintenance requirements.

Participate in Loss Prevention training and awareness initiatives.

Ensure operational compliance within the store.

Maintain a safe and compliant working and shopping environment.

Report any safety or compliance concerns to Store Management immediately.

Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and operational competencies.

4. Training & Development

Complete all required domestic and global training programs.

Participate in new store openings and/or closings (travel may be required).

Demonstrate continuous improvement and commitment to professional development.

5. Work Schedule Requirements

Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.

Overtime may be required based on business needs.

  • Matric
  • 1-2 years' experience in a customer-focused retail environment (apparel/footwear preferred).
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex customer issues effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy and numerical proficiency.
