Job Description

We are seeking a professional, organised and customer-focused Salon Receptionist / Administrator to be the face of our salon. This role is pivotal in delivering an exceptional resident/client experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of front-of-house operations and administrative systems.

The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, confident with booking systems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Welcome clients warmly and professionally
  • Manage check-in and check-out processes
  • Handle resident/client & staff queries in person/by phone
  • Ensure waiting area is clean, organised and inviting
  • Manage salon booking system efficiently
  • Schedule, confirm and reschedule appointments
  • Optimise stylist/therapist diaries for productivity
  • Send appointment reminders and manage cancellations
  • Arrange porters for residents in wheelchairs
  • Maintain accurate client records (Load new residents)
  • Process payments (card & eft)
  • Daily Cash up and prepare reports
  • Monitor and order retail/office/hair/nail supplies
  • Monthly stock take and stock ordering
  • Assist with staff rotas and internal communications
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Previous receptionist or front-of-house experience
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident using booking systems and basic computer skills
  • Professional appearance and manner
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Patience with the elderly
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a hair & beauty salon
  • Knowledge of salon software (Headstart)
  • Basic bookkeeping knowledge
