ArcelorMittal is recruiting for a Senior Engineer Metallurgy at Vanderbijlpark works

Responsibilities & requirements
  • Support and maintenance of existing process models through data analysis and other optimisation techniques ensuring that process models are effectively utilised
  • Evaluation and sourcing of new process models from within the group or 3 rd party suppliers
  • Developing in-house models
  • Evaluation of new investments using simulations techniques
  • Management of the KPI system
  • Support to the Ironmaking production departments
  • Management and reconciliation of raw material and product stocks
  • Participation in our safety management program including being an FPS champion
  • Evaluation and updating of production SOPs
  • Participation in our training program ensuring process knowledge transfer to operational team
  • Management of process related projects
  • Understanding of ironmaking processes and optimization thereof
Qualificatons & requirements
  • B-Eng. Degree (NQF 8/10) in Metallurgical (Physical)
  • Preferably a Management Development Program
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant working experience
  • Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Projects
  • Knowledge of capital procurement and budgeting processes
  • Experience in SAP PS and PM Modules will be an added advantage
  • Reliability engineering knowledge e.g. RCA procedures, condition monitoring, planning, restoration programs
