Job Description:

  • Attending to the repair and servicing of agricultural products/equipment, including fault finding, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Attending to the installation of products/equipment in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Attending to the installation of electrical wiring, distribution boards, or any other type of electrical wiring or equipment as required.
  • Attending to the programming of products/equipment where applicable.
  • Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining appropriate solutions.
  • Resolving technical and procedural problems.
  • Conducting regular field visits to inspect installed products/equipment.
  • Providing customer support during field visits.
  • Delivering professional customer service, including resolving queries and concerns.
  • Attending to callouts and breakdowns, including after-hours callouts, to identify and resolve problems.
  • Assisting with commissioning projects and installations.
  • Completing job cards and attending to general maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting with stock taking where required.
  • Overseeing ongoing projects.
  • Making ad hoc deliveries of stock as required.
  • Producing timely and detailed service and installation reports.
  • Maintaining technical and operational documentation.
  • Staying current with technological developments relating to relevant products and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified electrician with a Trade Test (Red Seal)
  • Computer literacy in Windows and MS Office, as well as other relevant software systems
  • Strong technical ability
  • Matric Certificate and a Diploma or Higher Diploma (Electrical and/or Mechanical) or other relevant qualification
  • Qualified Electrician (Red Seal) through a recognised accreditation body
  • Relevant technical experience relating to the installation, repair, and/or servicing of agricultural or industrial products/equipment
  • Relevant experience and technical knowledge of ventilation, automation, or agricultural systems would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of operational practices and procedures, including Health and Safety protocols and requirements
