Our staff are an important part of our mountain's personalities and help us deliver on our purpose. This is a guest service role that will require you to greet your passengers at various locations in Queenstown and transport them in a safe, friendly and informative manner to and from our ski fields.

About the role

The Team Leaders assist the Transport Manager with the organisation and implementation of the day to day operations of the Transport Department.

The required duties include;

  • Having a comprehensive understanding of all department processes, policies and standards,
  • Upholding the health and safety standards of the department and reporting any issues to the Transport Manager and making all team members aware of issues so they can be dealt with,
  • Ensure that our guest experience exceeds the customer's expectations throughout each step of their journey with us,
  • Holds regular staff meetings as directed by the Transport Manager, enforcing and maintaining safety standards, time standards, uniform standards, vehicle and plant cleanliness standards,
  • Constantly monitor driving standards and enforce safe operating practices,
  • Training and imparting your knowledge to staff and recognising training needs.
  • Ensure that you have the appropriate number of staff rostered on each day in accordance with the Transport Manager,
  • Take care of any basic (and non safety critical) maintenance on vehicles when able,
  • Recognise training and development needs for all Transport staff, oversee all driver training with support from returning Drivers,
  • Regularly conduct driver reviews for all drivers with support from the returning Drivers,
  • Assist with all daily operations, planning & administration as required.
About You
  • To perform in this role effectively, you will need to exceed our guests' expectations with personable hosting and professional driving standards
  • This job can often be physically demanding and requires a reasonable level of fitness
  • Willing to assist in other departments and take on additional duties as required
  • An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
Skills and Qualifications
  • At least a valid NZ driver's class 2 or 4 license. A New Zealand class 2 license and P endorsement must be obtained prior to commencement of employment. If you do not currently have a NZ licence, please contact us for further information
  • Proven mechanical, engineering, light vehicle, loader or other heavy vehicle driving skills on snow and ice would be an advantage
