WORKSHOP & FLEET MANAGER - BERRY FARM - TZANEEN
Job Description
The farm is situated near Tare n taal rand Crossing on the Deerpark Road and specialises in berry production and marketing .
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all farm assets, including machinery, vehicles, irrigation systems, and buildings, to maintain high productivity.
Position Specifications
• Preventative Maintenance Scheduling • Workshop Management & Safety • Project Planning Must have excellent time management s kills . • Good written and spoken English skills • Equipment Maintenance and Mechanical repairs : Perform daily, weekly inspections on vehicle and equipment with proper recordkeeping , schedule, and document preventative and corrective maintenance on tractors, implements, and farm machinery. • Infrastructure Repair: F arm buildings , Fences, Pumproom and Boreholes . • Operations Support: Assist with ensuring all equipment is ready for key seasonal activities such as planting , crop spraying and harvesting. • Inventory Control: Monitor, order, and maintain an inventory of spare parts and workshop tools. • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. • Team Management: Supervise maintenance staff or contractors to complete tasks efficiently.Person requirements:
- Proven experience as a Workshop and Fleet Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Technician, or similar role in an agricultural setting.
- Must have relevant Mechanical qualification and minimum of 3 years practical experience in the maintenance of Petrol and Diesel vehicles, tractors and Farm equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems.
- Valid driver's license (Class C1 or similar required for farm equipment).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Weekend work and overtime as required by Farm operations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and fixing machinery issues promptly.
