Job Description

The Zoho Finance Applications Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting end-to-end finance workflows using the Zoho Finance Suite (including Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, Zoho Expense, Zoho Billing, Zoho Checkout, Zoho Payroll, and Zoho Practice). You will work directly with clients to assess business needs, configure solutions, and ensure successful adoption of the platform in line with financial best practices and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Solution Design & Implementation

    Assess client finance and accounting processes to recommend Zoho Finance solutions.

    Configure and customize Zoho Finance apps (e.g., Zoho Books, Inventory, Expense).

    Design and implement workflows, automation, custom fields, and integrations.

    Map client GL, chart of accounts, tax rules, invoicing, and payment gateways.

  2. Integration & Data Management

    Integrate Zoho Finance apps with other Zoho applications (CRM, Projects, Desk, etc.) as well as third party applications (Payment Gateways, E-commerce Platforms, etc.).

    Manage data migrations from legacy systems or other accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage).

    Ensure secure and accurate data handling and reconciliation.

    Use of data cleaning tools.

  3. Client Engagement & Support

    Lead discovery sessions and client workshops to understand financial requirements.

    Provide training and documentation to clients and internal teams.

    Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to configuration and finance workflows.

  4. Financial Process Expertise

    Ensure client configurations support local and international financial compliance.

    Provide guidance on best practices for invoicing, expense tracking, reporting, and taxation.

    Stay current with Zoho Finance product updates and financial technology trends.

Requirements
  1. Educational Background
    • Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
  2. Preferred Professional Certifications

    Professional accounting qualifications or progress toward SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.

    Certifications in Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.

  3. Professional Skills

    Minimum 2-5 years working with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho, Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms).

    Strong knowledge of financial workflows, accounting principles, and ERP systems.

    Familiarity with South African and/or international tax and accounting regulations.

    Ability to document processes, and help to review implementation proposals and SOWs.

    An understanding of analytical tools (SQL, Zoho analytics or Power BI).

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    Clear communication skills, especially in client training and support contexts.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with clients. You enjoy engaging with people, understanding their needs, and delivering solutions in a professional, confident, and friendly manner.
