The roleAs our new Receptionist, you'll be the welcoming face and first point of connection at Electrum. You'll help ensure that our front-of-house experience runs smoothly, supporting everything from greeting guests and managing meeting spaces to keeping the reception area organised and assisting with day-to-day office coordination. Your role will help set the tone for our culture and ensure both our team and visitors feel welcome and supported.
The Receptionist role involves a range of responsibilities across several key areas:
- Front-Desk & Visitor Experience: Creating a welcoming, professional office entry; greeting and directing guests; managing visitor access badges; and maintaining a tidy reception area.
- Office Communication: Handling the switchboard (answering, screening, redirecting calls), managing reception email inquiries, and notifying teams of visitor arrivals.
- Mail, Deliveries & Office Support: Receiving, distributing, and logging mail/parcels, and providing basic administrative support (printing, scanning, filing).
- Meeting Room & Amenities Management: Managing meeting room calendars, ensuring rooms are clean and stocked before use, and providing refreshments/amenities.
- Employee Assistance: Promptly supporting staff with office-related queries (deliveries, bookings, admin) and ad hoc front-desk requests.
- Safety & Office Access Support: Monitoring office entry, maintaining visitor logs, reporting security/safety issues, and ensuring compliance with access protocols.
- Administrative Support: Maintaining contact lists, tracking/reporting low stock of office supplies, assisting with travel/team admin, and organising office notices/visitor instructions.
Educational qualifications:
- A Diploma or certificate in office administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred
Relevant experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a reception or front-office support role
Skills:
- Switchboard and visitor management experience
- Calendar and meeting room booking management
- Proficiency in spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Email and scheduling proficiency in Microsoft Outlook or Gmail
- Strong multitasking ability in a high-traffic reception environment
