We are seeking an experienced and organised Manager, Project to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this Contract position, you will be responsible for deploying a huge payroll replacement project by planning, executing, and closing projects whilst ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple organisational levels.

  • Plan, initiate, and define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Develop comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans using appropriate project management methodologies
  • Monitor project progress and performance against established baselines, identifying and mitigating risks proactively
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction and support to ensure optimal performance
  • Manage stakeholder communications through regular status reports, meetings, and presentations
  • Analyse project data and metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • Oversee budget management and financial tracking, ensuring cost control and value for money
  • Conduct quality assurance activities and implement corrective actions when necessary
  • Document project lessons learned and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Manage project documentation, ensuring accurate records and compliance with organisational standards
Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 8to 15years' experience in project management within a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or Prince2
  • Proficiency with project management tools and software (MS Project, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms)
  • Strong organisational and time-keeping abilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Proven experience in budget management and financial analysis
  • Excellent people skills and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in risk management and stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prince2 certification
  • Experience in change management
  • Background in a specific industry sector relevant to the organisation
  • Knowledge of quality management frameworks
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
